H. Mark Schatz

Principal, AIA, LEED AP

Academic Practice Leader

A native of Wisconsin and the son of an architect, Mark brings a deep-rooted passion for design to his work at Schwartz/Silver Architects. He has led a wide range of projects for educational and cultural institutions across the country. His experience includes serving as Project Architect for the Andlinger Humanities Center at Princeton University and the renovation of Tjaden Hall at Cornell University. He also led the design teams for the combined Grove Hall Branch Library and Burke High School project in Boston; the Stephen Robert Campus Center and Andrews Commons at Brown University; the Rhode Island College Art Center; and the renovation of the Amon Carter Museum of American Art. His design for 87 Trumbull Street, Yale University’s Economics Department, was recognized by both AIA New England and the Society for College and University Planning (SCUP). An avid traveler and lifelong learner, Mark enjoys exploring new places and improving his tennis game—though the latter remains a work in progress.
