87 Trumbull Street Featured in YaleNews

Schwartz/Silver’s project 87 Trumbull Street, designed for Yale University to house the Department of Economics and affiliated centers, has been featured on YaleNews in an article written by Mike Cummings, titled, “New building brings connectivity (and sustainability) to Trumbull Street.

The article describes many of the building’s special features, including its connections to three historic buildings through a series of new glass and steel bridges, corridors, and doorways; and its proof-of-concept all-electric mechanical system which is expected to become a Yale standard.

This project demonstrates how to connect historic buildings with a new structure in an architecturally sensitive fashion that creates a whole much greater than the sum of its parts.
