Sofia Kuspan

Designer

Sofia’s interest in design was strongly influenced by her architect father. She graduated from the Ohio State University with a B.S. in Architecture, and the University of Virginia with an M. Arch where she participated in both research and teaching positions.  Her preservation skills were stretched by summers working with her family restoring a 1940’s Usonian style house. She is currently a contributor for an ongoing collaborative book project, expanding upon her graduate thesis research on spolia - an ancient practice whereby stone that has been quarried, cut and used in a built structure is reused elsewhere. Sofia is committed to design that acknowledges the influence of history and the site in the built environment.
