Nelson Liu

Senior Associate

Nelson first worked at Schwartz/Silver as a high school intern and returned after obtaining his Bachelor of Architecture degree. As an expert in the real-world issues of construction and mechanical coordination, he served as Project Manager for the documentation and construction of some of the firm’s most sensitive and demanding projects, including the Newton MA Central Fire Station, Yale University’s 87 Trumbull Street, and the restoration and reuse of McKim Mead and White’s Cocke Hall on Thomas Jefferson’s Lawn at the University of Virginia. Aside from project management, Nelson’s passion is his mentorship of younger staff members, drawing from his thirty years of experience at SSA. Nelson recently returned to a project that he managed 12 years ago, now as a Trustee for the Boston Psychoanalytic Society & Institute, where a historic former chapel underwent a comprehensive renovation to serve as home to the organization.
